🀍 Why Are WHITE Printable Embellishments So Hard to Find?

Hey Reader!

Have you ever tried to find pretty WHITE printable embellishments for your junk journals or paper crafts?

You'd think they'd be easy to find, right? πŸ˜‚

A couple of weeks ago, the subject of white-ish printable embellishments came up in our Facebook group, and someone mentioned that you don't see them very often. And I thought, oh, I know exactly why!

They're a lot harder to design.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes secret from someone who designs these things...

Printers don't actually print white! 🀍

When you see white on a printable, your printer is just leaving that part of the paper blank. Which makes designing delicate white lace, flowers, and other embellishments surprisingly tricky!

To make those pretty details visible, I have to work with subtle shadows, highlights, and just a hint of color.

But here's where things get interesting...

That little hint of color matters β€” a LOT!

A creamy ivory color might look gorgeous in a vintage junk journal, while a cool, minty white might be perfect for a soft botanical project. Swap them around, though, and suddenly those beautiful embellishments might not look quite right!

That's why I've created several different shades of almost-white in my Colorful Embellishments collection! πŸ’•

Some of my favorites include:

🀍 Antique Porcelain White β€” soft and warm
🀍 Soft Ivory Cream β€” delicate and creamy
🀍 Vanilla Frost β€” a gentle vanilla shade
🀍 Warm Parchment Cream β€” perfect for aged-paper looks
🀍 Mint Snow β€” a whisper of mint
🀍 Seafoam Mist β€” a cool, soft greenish tint
🀍 Pale Primrose β€” a hint of buttery yellow

And if you love soft, vintage-inspired neutrals... 🀎

I also have a few beautiful lighter neutrals that are perfect when you want a little more warmth and depth without adding too much color:

🀎 Champagne Linen β€” a soft, elegant beige
🀎 Antique Buttercream β€” a warm, buttery neutral
🀎 Soft Golden Sand β€” a gentle, sandy beige

These are especially pretty for vintage junk journals, shabby chic projects, and layered paper crafts.

They're all light, delicate colors, but each brings something a little different to your projects!

So the next time you're looking for white embellishments, try thinking beyond plain white. Sometimes that tiny touch of color is exactly what makes everything come together. πŸ’•

I swore I was NEVER going to attempt this project again. Twice I'd tried making a DIY cardboard cat scratcher. And twice I'd nearly sliced my fingers off trying to cut what felt like a MILLION strips of cardboard with a craft knife. So why on earth would I try it a THIRD time?! Well, let me back up a little... Today I've got a different kind of paper craft to share with you. One that involves cardboard, a little glue, and some very lucky cats. 🐈 I've always loved the idea of turning old...

Good morning Reader When I was little, we had a small flower garden tucked beside our garage, and in that garden grew the most beautiful deep red chrysanthemums. Oh, how I loved those mums! ❀️ One day, my mom told me I could pick as many flowers from that plant as I wanted, as long as I helped take care of the garden. I was absolutely thrilled! Every year, that chrysanthemum bush came back bigger and more beautiful than the year before. And every fall, I would pick armfuls of those gorgeous...
